HOW Design 2011 Business Annual – Page 79

As other designers may know, creating your own identity isn’t the easiest task on the planet. I struggled for months to really capture who Miaso Design really is and what we are really about. Given the fact that my last name means meat in Polish, I based my design around meat packing. I used French butcher paper for the letterhead and chose triple thick chip board for my business cards. I had Accucolor Printing here in Chicago do the letterpress as they are the best in the business, and that’s just what I wanted to convey.

HOW Design Magazine was seeking entries for letterhead systems so I decided to submit mine. I just received the November 2011 issue and voila! Here it is. I am very proud of this accomplishment.  You can get the issue here

Cheers!

  1. Even though your business cards are giving me a George Costanza wallet, I carry it everywhere so the awesomeness can be close to me at all times. For reals, the coolest cards I’ve seen – and felt!

Kristin Miaso is not a trained chef - But she does have more cowbell and since founding Miaso Design in 2000 she has been cooking up what can only be described as drool-worthy design.

Along with her very happy clients, Kristin has a grade-A team of writers, photographers and programmers that make it all look easy - the awards and design publications are just gravy.

A West Town Chicago native and current resident, Kristin has studied in Italy and worked in Belfast, Ireland. Along with her passion for design, She loves all things Italian (especially their motorcycles), dogs (especially her Lab/Dalmatian mix, Abby) and bacon (especially when it's crispy).
